Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The colours are read from your image inside your browser using a canvas. Your image never leaves your device, so it works offline and stays private.

How are the colours chosen?

The image is sampled and similar pixels are grouped together; the most common groups become your palette, so you get the dominant colours rather than every random pixel.

What can I do with the palette?

Click a swatch to copy its HEX, copy every HEX at once for your CSS or design tool, or download the swatches as a PNG strip to keep or share.
