FAQ

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is decoded and adjusted entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API. It never leaves your device, so it works offline and stays private.

What does normalizing do?

It scales the whole track evenly so its loudest peak reaches your chosen level — making quiet recordings louder without clipping. Because everything is scaled by the same amount, the balance of the audio is unchanged.

Is this the same as loudness (LUFS) normalization?

No — this is peak normalization, which targets the single loudest sample. It’s simple and safe against clipping. Perceived-loudness (LUFS) matching is a different, more involved process.
