FAQ
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The GIF is made entirely in your browser using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device. The engine (about 25 MB) downloads once on first use and is then cached.
Why should I keep the clip short?
GIFs store every frame, so file size grows quickly with length, frame rate and width. A few seconds at 480 px and 10–15 fps gives a shareable file; longer or larger gets big fast.
Will the colours look good?
Yes — it uses a two-pass method that builds an optimised colour palette from your clip first, then applies it, which looks noticeably cleaner than a naive conversion.
