FAQ
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The enlargement happens entirely in your browser on a canvas. Your image never leaves your device, so it works offline and stays private.
Is this AI upscaling?
There’s an optional offline AI mode. Choose “AI · Anime4K” to run a real super-resolution model on your GPU, right in your browser — no upload, no server. It works on Chrome and Edge (which support WebGPU); on other browsers, or for very large images, it automatically falls back to high-quality smoothing and sharpening. The AI model is downloaded once, the first time you use it.
When does each method work best?
The AI (Anime4K) model shines on anime, illustrations, line art, logos and screenshots, where it reconstructs crisp edges. For photographs it still helps, but a model tuned for photos would do more (a larger photo model may be offered later). The standard method is a smooth resample plus optional sharpening — fast, works everywhere, and never invents detail.
